2.Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the mobile apps offered by Digitales Erlebnis-Center GmbH unless a supplementary privacy policy is provided for a specific app.

3.Locally Stored App Data

Depending on its functionality, an app may store data on the device being used. This may include in particular:

  • settings
  • learning, game or usage progress
  • review and result data
  • achieved status values or awards
  • unlocked content
  • purchase or premium status

The processing is carried out to provide the app functions selected by the user on the basis of Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Storage of this data on the device is strictly necessary for the functions requested by the user; consent under Section 25(1) TDDDG is therefore not required (Section 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG).

If no optional synchronization function is used, this data remains on the device. It remains stored there until it is deleted within the app, via the device settings or by uninstalling the app.

4.Optional Synchronization of Game Saves and Progress

Some apps may offer an optional function for synchronizing game saves, learning progress or comparable app data via Google Play Games Services.

If you use this function, the data required for synchronization may be transmitted to Google and associated with your Google Play Games profile. Depending on the app, this may include in particular game saves, learning or quiz progress, results, unlocked content, achieved status values or comparable progress data.

The synchronization is intended to make saved progress available across multiple devices or to restore it after reinstalling the app.

Use of the synchronization function is voluntary. Where the relevant app can be used without synchronization, the corresponding data remains on the device unless this function is activated.

Google Play Games Services is provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. In connection with the use of the service, Google may process data and link it to the Google account or Google Play Games profile used. Google’s privacy policy applies additionally to processing carried out by Google.

Where synchronization is used to provide a function requested by the user, we process the relevant data on the basis of Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.

Synchronized data can be managed or deleted using the functions provided by Google. Where an app provides its own option for deleting or resetting synchronized game saves or progress, that option may also be used.

5.In-App Purchases

Some apps offer paid functions or content.

We receive from the store provider the information required to verify a purchase, unlock a function or restore a previous purchase. This may include in particular the product identifier, a transaction identifier and the purchase status.

Purchase information is processed for the performance of the contract on the basis of Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. The purchase or premium status may subsequently be stored locally on the device.

6.Contact by Email

If you contact us by email, we process the data transmitted with your message. This may include in particular your name, email address, the content of the message, attachments, and the date and time of the communication.

The processing is carried out in order to handle and respond to your inquiry.

If the inquiry relates to the use of an app or an in-app purchase, the processing is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. General inquiries are processed on the basis of Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in handling incoming inquiries.

We use Gmail, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, for email communication.

Google may also process data required for transmitting and storing emails outside the European Economic Area. According to Google, transfers to the United States are based in particular on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and, where required, the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

Email messages are deleted once the inquiry has been fully handled and there are no statutory retention obligations or other legitimate reasons for further storage.
